Better Housing Co.
About

The housing problem is a treasury problem.

Affordable housing nonprofits raise money, spend it, and go raise more. The cycle never ends and it never scales. The Better Housing Company breaks that cycle by holding surplus in an asset that appreciates faster than housing costs rise.

Our buildings carry zero debt. With no mortgage there are no interest payments, no foreclosure risk, and no lender pushing rents to market rate. Wisconsin's charitable housing exemption removes property tax, and we pass those savings to residents. The result is rent 15 to 20 percent below market, fixed for as long as a resident stays, backed by a treasury that compounds.

Zero debt

Every building is bought outright. No leverage, no interest, no lender with a say in the rent.

A Bitcoin treasury

Surplus is saved in Bitcoin rather than a savings account. The treasury's growth is what keeps rent flat.

Tax efficient

A 501(c)(3) pays no capital gains on Bitcoin sales under IRC 512(b)(5). Wisconsin conforms, and Madison has no local income tax.

Resident alignment

Residents pay below-market rent that never increases, in dollars or Bitcoin, with onboarding help for anyone new to it.

Board of directors

Board member profiles will be published upon formation.
